We never sell your data and never use it for third-party advertising.

This Privacy Policy explains how Naresh Soni ("we", "us",
"the Operator"), the operator of the Soni Samaj mobile
application ("the App"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your
personal information. We are committed to handling your data
responsibly and in accordance with the
Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the
Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
01Who we are
The App is operated by Naresh Soni, «registered address —
to be added», for the benefit of the Soni / Swarnkar community.
Community trusts and their administrators use the App to manage
their members, events, and donations, but the platform itself is
operated by the Operator.
Contact: jmnaresh@gmail.com / +91 88663 70537(a dedicated support email will be announced
in-app once live).
02Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the community platform.
a) Information you provide:
Account & identity: mobile number (used for OTP login), name, gender, date of birth, profile photo.
Community profile: city, state, native place, family/relationship details, occupation.
Matrimony (Rishta), if you use it: matrimonial profile details and photos you choose to add.
Business listing, if you create one: business name, category, address, phone, photos.
Donations & payments: donation amount, campaign, and — for 80G receipts — the name, PAN, and address you provide. Card/UPI/bank details are entered on our payment partner's secure screen, not stored by us (see section 5).
Support & reports: the content of reports, blocks, and messages you send to admins.
b) Information collected automatically:
Device & usage: device model, OS version, app version, and basic usage/diagnostic data needed to keep the App working and secure.
Notifications token: a push-notification identifier (Google FCM) to deliver alerts.
We do not collect precise GPS location, your contacts, or
financial card numbers.
03How we use your information
To create and manage your member account and verify you via OTP.
To run community features: member directory, feed, events, gallery, chat, matrimony, business directory, scholarships, dharamshala bookings.
To process donations, membership, and other payments, and to issue receipts (including 80G).
To send notifications you've opted into (announcements, reminders, chat, approvals). You can mute categories in Notification settings.
To keep the community safe — review reports, moderate photos/content, and act on misuse.
To meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations of the Operator and of the community trusts that receive donations.
04Who can see your information
Other community members: parts of your profile (e.g. name, city, and — if you opt in — matrimony/business details) are visible to approved members of your samaj, by design. You control what optional information you add.
Samaj administrators and trust administrators: authorised admins (including the administrators of your city's community trust) can view member records and manage content for community administration — for example approving registrations, managing dharamshala bookings, and issuing donation receipts.
Payment partner:Razorpay processes payments securely on our behalf.
Service providers: hosting and push-notification (Google Firebase) providers, bound to protect your data.
Legal: where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of members.
We never sell your personal data or use it for third-party
advertising.
05Payments
Payments (donations, membership, paid features) are handled by
Razorpay. When you pay, your card/UPI/bank details are
entered directly on Razorpay's PCI-DSS-compliant systems. We
receive only the transaction status and the information needed for
receipts. Razorpay's own privacy policy also applies to that step.
06Photo moderation
Matrimony and certain community photos are reviewed before they
appear to keep the community safe. Reviewed photos are stored
on our systems and shown only to the intended audience.
07Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as long as
needed for the purposes above. Donation, payment, and tax
records are retained as required by law (typically several
years). When no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
08Your rights (DPDP Act)
You may:
Access the personal data we hold about you,
Correct or update inaccurate data (most fields are editable in-app),
Request deletion of your account and data (subject to legal retention of financial records),
Withdraw consent / mute notifications,
Raise a grievance (see section 12).
To exercise these, use the in-app options or contact us at
jmnaresh@gmail.com.
09Security
We use OTP-based login, access controls, encrypted connections
(HTTPS), and admin role restrictions to protect your data. No
system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures and
act promptly on any incident.
10Children
The App is intended for community members. Matrimony (Rishta)
features are for adults (18+) only. Where a minor is added by
a parent/guardian (e.g. a child's scholarship marksheet), the
guardian is responsible for that information and consents on the
child's behalf.
11Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified
in-app. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current
version.
